BourbonHam is Birmingham’s premiere Bourbon and BBQ fundraising event. Whether you are a bourbon afficianado or novice, BourbonHam is definitely a must do in the Magic City. Bourbon accompanied with award winning BBQ and live music all benefitting the National MS Society make for a great southern event. With multiple ticket options to choose from, patrons will have the opportunity of tasting a selection of over 50 different bourbons/whiskeys and sampling award-winning BBQ while listening to live music and watching football.

What is MS?

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.

What Causes MS?

  • In multiple sclerosis, damage to the myelin in the central nervous system (CNS) — and to the nerve fibers themselves — interferes with the transmission of nerve signals between the brain and spinal cord and other parts of the body.

Who gets MS?

  • While MS is not contagious or directly inherited, epidemiologists have identified factors in the distribution of MS around the world that may eventually help determine what causes the disease.

Types of MS

  • Four disease courses have been identified in multiple sclerosis: clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), primary progressive MS (PPMS), and secondary progressive MS (SPMS).
